Abstract

Background and Objective: Improving the nutritional knowledge of individuals is important in creating a desirable nutritional attitude and can lead to the observation of desirable health behaviors. The purpose of this study is to present a provincial report on the knowledge, attitude and practice of urban-rural households in Qazvin based on a national study on nutrition.
Materials and Methods: The present report is based on the results of a national survey of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP)1 of rural and urban households about nutrition that was carried out in the year 90 by using a structured questionnaire and interviews with participants. 454 questionnaires was completed in Qazvin province. In this report, the results of Qazvin province were analyzed
Results: The results of this study indicated that knowledge of the participants about cola and fast food was not satisfactory. The Highest (32.5%) awareness was about relationship between obesity and high fast food consumption and The lowest (3.8%) awareness was about association with liver diseases and high fast food consumption. Attitude of the participants regarding the harm full effects of cola consumption was 58.4%. In practice, the highest consumption (71.2%) was for cola and the lowest (48.9%) for pizza (daily, weekly or rarely).
Conclusion: These findings may help the health system to achieve the goal of improving the knowledge, attitudes of the affiliated households and finally, it will improve the general health of the community.

Abstract

Background and Objective: The rising trend of Body Mass Index (BMI) in adolescents is one of the major problems minatory societies. Several factors may affect higher BMI adolescents. This study aimed to identify factors influencing BMI in guidance school students of Babol.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in winter 2017. On research population, including about 504 students who were selected by stratified random sampling method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire containing demographic, behavioral Such as age, eating fast food, exercising, walking with asked students and questions such as physiological maturity, using breast milk mother's students asked.  dependent variables such as weight with beurer Germany 0.5 kg carefully and Height stadiometer seca Japan Unacceptable reaction with 0.5 cm carefully is measured and calculated BMI based on the standard percentile CDC2000 was analyzed
Results: The mean BMI in 474 students were 21.5±4.9 that109 persons (23%) were Weight loss 65 persons(13.7%) were overweight and 27 persons(5.7) were obese. BMI in students had a significant relationship with school feeding, sex, duration of breastfeed, maturity, consumption of carbonated beverages, working with computers, physical activity, (p<0.05), and had no significant relationship with birth, type of home, residential area, how to go to school, , watching TV, reading, father's education and job, mother's education and age(p>0.05).
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that about a half of the students had a BMI above the normal range. It is recommended to design and apply intervention programs for adolescents.

Abstract

Background: The Medicinal use of plants in many countries of the world, including former Iran, has a long history. In most developed countries, traditional medicine has been supported by the government in various dimensions And it has assumed a large share of providing people's health in the country's health system.

Methods: This review study was conducted with the keywords "Ammi majus, bishop's weed, lady's lace, vaye, white flower, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cytotoxic, vitiligo, psoriasis" with the aim of investigating the therapeutic effects of Ammi majus. And based on the results of the studies reviewed in this article, Ammi majus can be used therapeutically with its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects, as well as its effectiveness in the treatment of vitiligo. To extract articles, databases PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct were searched.
Results: Today, in the world, there is a greater desire to use medicinal plants due to their antimicrobial, antioxidant properties and having fewer side effects than chemical compounds.
Conclusion: Ammi Majus has been used since ancient times in the medical system of different countries such as Egypt, Oman, and Iraq as a herbal medicine to treat psoriasis, tinea, and vitiligo, and to regulate menstruation and as a diuretic.
